The Torbay Discovery Trail has been created by the South West Heritage Trust, the University of Exeter and two primary schools in Torquay: Ellacombe Church of England Academy and Warberry Church of England Academy. 

The trail is designed to introduce learners to some of the famous people who have links with the Torbay area, enabling them to discover more using items from archive collections held at the Devon Heritage Centre in Exeter, and online resources from Find My Past (https://findmypast.co.uk), the British Newspaper Archive (https://britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk) and Know Your Place West of England (https://kypwest.org.uk).  The documents from the Devon Heritage Centre's collections are accompanied by their reference numbers and links to the online archive catalogue (https://devon-cat.swheritage.org.uk).
